MuchDifferent aims for First Person Shooter World Record - 1000 players

Game developer MuchDifferent has set their sights extremely high for their latest project; the 1000 player First Person Shooter. The game is dubbed "Man vs. Machine." As far as we can tell, Man vs. Machine will only be played on one day, for the soul purpous of acquiring the World Record for most players in a First Person Shooter game.

"The secret behind being able to handle a much larger amount of players in one First Person Shooter (FPS) battlefield lays in having several (in this case 8) single-threaded servers working together as one." MuchDifferent says. The game runs on the Unity Plugin, meaning that Mac and PC players can play in the same match.

You can help MuchDifferent set the world record by playing Man vs. Machine on January 29th. You can play the game on the Man vs. Machine homepage. All that you will need is the Unity Plugin to play.
